Trivia[]

  • Yotsuya mentions that he is going to watch a "Urusei Yatsura" video. That is a direct reference to Urusei Yatsura, another anime based on a Rumiko Takahashi manga.
  • For the second time in the series, the normal eyecatch sequence was not used. This time it was completely replaced with a white screen with the Maison Ikkoku logo to fade to the second half of the episode.
  • It is revealed that Kozue Nanao married and moved with her husband to Nagoya, the capital city of the Aichi prefecture.
  • A picture of Shun Mitaka's twin babies is shown. Those babies have a strong resemblance to baby versions of Ranma Saotome and Akane Tendo, from the Ranma 1/2 anime and manga.
  • Most of all the cast of Maison Ikkoku appeared in this episode. Some of the absentees are: Midori, Yuko, Mrs. Kamiogi, Mr. Yagami, Mrs. Yagami, Mrs. Kujō, Mr. Kujō, Shun's Uncle, Mitaka's Parents, Kasumi, Mr. Nanao, Mrs. Nanao and Yosuke Nanao.
  • This is the last episode of the anime. Maison Ikkoku, in its Fuji timeslot, was replaced by the anime adaptation of Noboru Rokuda's "F" until September 28, 1988.
