  • In the scene where Asuna is looking at Mitaka's old photo album, there is an appliance on Mitaka's living room that has the brand "Tokyo Gas" on it. The Tokyo Gas Company (founded in 1885) is the primary provider of natural gas to the city of Tokyo.

  • In the scene where Kozue Nanao is on the train back home, there are several advertisement signs that have references to things:
    • Three signs that say "Maris" on them (two in the train, and one on a building). Those could be a reference to the 1986 OVA "Maris the Chojo", based on a work by Rumiko Takahashi.
    • One sign that says "Maison Ikkoku" on a building. That is a self-reference to the anime.
    • And one sign that says "Aqua" on a building.
