Synopsis[]
The tenants of Maison Ikkoku, especially Godai, are shocked by the idea of Kyōko quitting the job. Meanwhile Kyōko's parents elaborate further plans to take her away from her job, but will Kyōko relent?

- According to the wall calendar in Kyōko's room, this episode takes place on a month that has 31 days, and begins on a Tuesday the 1st.
- This episode aired on August 1986, but the Tankobon manga counterpart was published around May 1983.
- That being said, the closest months that comply with these requirements are: March 1983, May 1984, January 1985, October 1985 and July 1986.
- In the scene where the tenants are drinking at Chachamaru, the song "Tsurai Kedo" (It's Painful, but....) by singer Tai Eijirou is featured.
