Yagami's Back! Just When You Least Expect Her! is the sixty-third episode of the Maison Ikkoku anime.

Synopsis[]

Ibuki Yagami tries one more time to get Godai to like her. And when Godai offers his services as school tutor for hire, she sees it as a great opportunity to get closer to Godai. How is Yagami going to approach to him without being rejected? Is she gonna exploit that tutoring chance in her favor?

  • In the scene where Godai and Yagami are talking at the café, there is a song in the background: it is called "You and I" by singer CINDY from her 1986 album "Love Life".
  • In the scene where Yagami is bored on her room at night there is a song in her stereo. It is called "Tokoton I love you" ("I love you to the end") by Michiko Kawai.
  • According to a wall calendar next to the pink payphone, this episode takes place on a month that has 30 days, and starts on a Monday the 1st.
    • This episode aired on June 1987, but the Tankobon manga counterpart was published around July 1986.
    • That being said, June 1987 complies with those requirements.
  • In the scene Godai is cleaning his room, on one of the walls there is a poster with the American pop singer Madonna.
  • In the scene where Hanae Ichinose steals the tutoring money from Godai, he crashes with a bookcase and several books fall. One of them is called "Paradox" and seems to be written by "Cyndy Laupr". That is a reference to the American pop singer Cyndi Lauper.
